College Sports Recruiting Scholarship

We are offering a $1,000 
scholarship to eligible high school seniors. The College Sports Recruiting 
Scholarship will be awarded to 1-5 winners each year. The details for the 
contest and eligibility rules are available on our webpage for the 
contest.

HOBO reminder

Please make sure you check out the HOBO scholarship info...scroll back through previous posts.  Due to weather issues, they have added another cleanup day for anyone interested.  You have to participate in a cleanup day to be eligible.  Due March 1st!!!!!  See me for info!

UA Rural Minority Health Scholars Program (Junior and Senior Opportunities)

Juniors and Seniors who are interested in Health Science need to see me me about a great program through the University of Alabama.

Requirements:
Resident of Rural Alabama for 8 years
ACT with writing (score of at least a 21)
Currently 11th or 12 grade
Two letters of Recommendation
Statement of interest essay.

Applications must be postmarked by March 15th.



Study Habits Scholarship

Scholarship Deadline: April 1st, 2015 ($500)

To be eligible for the Study Habits Scholarship a student must:
1) Be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by the fall of 2015.

2) A student can be enrolled at any level in any program that is two years in length or longer.

3) Students must be Canadian or US residents.

4) Students must answer the essay question on the website online application form

About the Extend the Dream Scholarship 

In 2011, SACAC initiated Extend the Dream Scholarships to recognize and reward deserving students.  This scholarship is awarded based on financial need, academic achievement and community service.  Awards are in the amount of $1,000 and are not renewable.   The Extend the Dream Student Scholarship is provided through funds from the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling.

Dr. Watkins High School Scholarships

Two different scholarship opportunities below:

  • Must be a resident from the Central Alabama Area.
  • Must be a graduating senior.
  • Must have a minimum SAT score of 830 or ACT score of 17.
  • Must have a 2.5 or higher grade point average.
  • Must possess leadership skills and show school/community involvement.
  • Must submit two letters of recommendations (e.g. Guidance Counselor, Pastor, Deacon or Community Leader/ Organization) letters should include student name and must be no longer than two pages. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE REV. DR. A.W. WATKINS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, INC: P.O. BOX 8045: MONTGOMERY, AL 36109
  • Must submit a 500 word typed essay on your goals and why higher education is important to you (must be double spaced). Punctuation, spelling and grammar will be checked thoroughly.
  • Must mail official transcript by February 28, 2015
  • Must provide a picture of you with the application packet. (The picture will be used for foundation website)
  • ALL DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED MUST BE POSTMARKED BY FEBRUARY 28, 2015
  • ONLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED


  • Must be enrolled in the Bible and Pastoral Ministry with a classification of Junior or Senior.
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average.
  • Must submit an official copy of school transcript and proof of current enrollment (e.g. registration info).
  • Must submit three letters of recommendations (i.e. Dean/Professors, Community Service and Church Leader, etc.).
  • Must submit a 1500 word typed essay explaining why you choose your field of study. Punctuation, spelling and grammar will be checked thoroughly.
  • Must provide a picture with the application packet. (Photo will be utilized for our website)
  • ALL DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED MUST BE POSTMARKED BY FEBRUARY 28, 2015
