Mr. Mathis will be at the College Fair that Seniors will attend this week. He just called and wanted our seniors to have this information if they are interested in applying:
Students can be admitted on the spot IF THEY have a transcript (come by and see me if you need one) and ACT score of at least a 2.5 GPA and a 17 on the ACT.
Scholarships:
Full Scholarship - 3.7 and a 25 on the ACT
20-22 on ACT and a 3.2 $20,000 over 4 years
19 ACT and 3.1 $16,000 over 4 years
23-24 ACT and 3.5 $45,000 over 4 years.

This is for those between 14 and 24.
In 250 words or less, tell us how you've impacted the life of an older adult. It’s that easy.
Grand Prize (1): A $10,000 scholarship prize, awarded as either (a) a check co-payable to winner's accredited 2-year or 4-year college, vocational school, or university or (b) paid to the winner's 529 college savings account.
Submission Phase Prize (20): $250.
Voting Phase Prize (30): $25.

I wanted to remind you of a couple of policies related to your students' applications to UAB. First, we now require an official score report sent directly from ACT or the College Board. Second, our application fee of $30 may be waived for students who are eligible for free/reduced lunch or who qualified for an ACT/SAT fee waiver.

Senior Chilton County College Fair - Sept 9th
VHS Seniors will be attending the Chilton County College Fair on September 9th at 8:00 AM. Our time to visit the schools/vendors will end at 9:30. Permission forms will be going home this week. Dress is Business Casual...no jeans or flip flops please. *If you purchased a binder, it would be good to bring along to keep anything that the schools/vendors give you - scholarship info, business cards etc.
Here are some questions that you may want to ask (from NACAC) - make a personal list of what is important to you!!!

What qualities should prospective students have?
Which standardized test scores do you require?
What majors are offered?
What’s the most popular?

How much will it cost?

Classroom:
